What a call
sounds like.

Assistant: “Hi, you’re through to Dave’s Plumbing. I’m Dave’s AI assistant, and this call is recorded so Dave gets the details. What can we help with?”

Caller: “My kitchen tap won’t stop dripping and it’s getting worse.”

Assistant: “Thanks. What’s your postcode, and is water leaking anywhere it shouldn’t, like through a ceiling?”

Two minutes later Dave gets a text: Dripping kitchen tap, BN3, no leak through ceiling, wants a visit this week, Sarah, 07…. He calls back between jobs.

What it does.

Answers missed calls

Calls you cannot take are forwarded to the assistant, day or night, so nobody hits voicemail.

Asks your questions

Job type, postcode, property type, how urgent, best time to call back. Written for your trade.

Flags emergencies

Rules you agree, such as leaks through ceilings, no heating for vulnerable customers, sparking or burning smells, are marked urgent or put straight through.

Texts you a summary

A short message with everything you need to call back, plus a transcript if you want it.

Texts back missed calls

If someone hangs up, they get a friendly text asking what they need.

Filters the noise

Sales calls and spam get a polite brush-off instead of interrupting your day.

The safety
rules we build in.

The assistant never tells a customer how to fix anything. Gas smells are directed to the National Gas Emergency Service on 0800 111 999, anyone in danger is told to call 999, and electrical hazards are passed straight to you.

It only answers from information you approve, such as your areas, services and published starting prices. It never confirms a price or a date on your behalf.

Callers are told they are speaking to an AI assistant and that calls are recorded, and we update your privacy notice to cover it.

Questions
trades ask.

How much does an AI receptionist cost in the UK?

Off-the-shelf AI receptionists for trades advertise from about £29 to £69 a month, usually with a limit on calls or minutes. Done-for-you services often add a setup fee of £150 to £300. Our Never Miss a Job package is £199 setup and £49 a month, including the script, testing and monthly checks.

Is there a free AI receptionist?

Some tools have free tiers or trials with a small number of calls. They can work if you are happy to set them up and write the script yourself. The work is in getting the questions, emergency rules and forwarding right for your trade, which is what our setup fee covers.

Is an AI receptionist a good idea for a tradesperson?

If you regularly miss calls while working, it usually is. Callers who reach voicemail often ring the next business instead. An assistant that answers, takes the details and texts you means you can call back the jobs you want. If you rarely miss calls, a simple missed-call text back may be enough.

Will customers know it is AI?

Yes. We set the greeting to say so and to explain that calls are recorded and transcribed. Most customers are happy as long as they get a quick, useful answer and a call back.

Can I keep my number?

Yes. Calls you do not answer on your mobile are forwarded to the assistant, so customers keep using the number they already have.
