How we handle Starter enquiries.

Last updated: 10 October 2026.

Sussex Webmasters is the data controller for Starter enquiries. We decide how your enquiry is used and respond to privacy requests at mo@sussexwebmasters.com. We use the details you submit to assess your request, contact you about it and prepare a quote or order if you want to proceed. We do not add enquiry contacts to a marketing list.

What we save

Your name, email, business description, answers about scope and content, optional website and message, and a reference and submission time. Please do not include passwords or sensitive personal information.

Netlify Forms stores your enquiry in the Sussex Webmasters site account and filters submissions for spam, including through Akismet. We use a form-specific notification to send enquiry details to mo@sussexwebmasters.com. We check the Netlify inbox as well as email. Netlify and our email provider process your details to provide these services. Access is limited to people handling your enquiry; we do not keep a second lead database.

Where providers process information

Netlify and its service providers may process information outside the UK, including in the United States. Netlify publishes its safeguards in its Data Processing Agreement and privacy statement, including standard contractual clauses and the UK Extension to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. Contact us if you would like information about the safeguards used for your enquiry.

Usage measurement

PostHog tracking is currently disabled. If it is enabled later, we will confirm its retention arrangements and update this notice first. Allowing optional measurement currently lets us attach the campaign labels and a random session reference to your enquiry.

Optional campaign attribution is only saved if you allow usage measurement. It uses a small set of campaign labels, not your full browsing history or referring URL. You can change your preference on the Starter page. Your preference is saved in your browser. A temporary enquiry receipt lets us display confirmation after submission.

If you allow measurement, we use a random identifier for this browser session to count page views, main button clicks and enquiry starts. When PostHog is enabled, these events and verified enquiries are sent to our separate Sussex Webmasters project in PostHog’s EU cloud. Enquiry conversions are exported from Netlify’s verified records during our inbox review. Confirmed qualification and payment events may be added after review. We send only the event, time, campaign labels and random identifier, plus the amount for a verified payment. We do not include your form answers, name, email, telephone number or full page URL in analytics events. PostHog receives network information when your browser connects; the project is configured to remove IP addresses from stored events and we disable geolocation enrichment.

Session recordings, automatic interaction capture, advertising pixels and person profiles are not enabled. Declining measurement leaves the enquiry form available. Changing your preference stops future browser measurement and removes its session identifier; it does not delete events already collected. Contact us to withdraw consent for later qualification or payment measurement associated with an enquiry.

Netlify processes network information and submission content for delivery, security and spam checks. Hosting and email providers may keep service logs. We do not collect passwords, payment details or file uploads through this form.

Retention and your choices

We review the Netlify inbox and notification mailbox monthly. Unsuccessful enquiries become due for deletion 90 days after the last contact and are deleted at the next monthly review, unless a conversation is ongoing. We review and delete spam and synthetic test records within 30 days. These are manual review arrangements. If you become a customer, relevant records are retained for the service and applicable record-keeping requirements. You can ask about access, correction or deletion by emailing mo@sussexwebmasters.com.

We process enquiries to take steps at your request before a possible contract, and protect the service against abuse. Optional usage measurement uses your consent. You may also raise a concern with the Information Commissioner’s Office.
